Get sick less through these three better eating tips

You are more likely to get sick when you are exposed to germs, viral outbreaks or even other people who are harboring an illness through touch or airborne exposure to germs. With just a few adjustments to your daily routine and diet, you can help to reduce or even eliminate the time that you are sick.

Increasing the amount of Vitamin C you consume can go a long way in helping your body be better able to ward off sickness. Some ideal foods to add to your diet include oranges, papaya, cantaloupe, grapefruit, pineapple, kiwi fruit, brussel sprouts and bell peppers as they all have high amounts of Vitamin C.

Zinc is also essential in helping your body to ward off illness such as the common cold, flu and other viral infections. Foods high in Zinc include dark chocolate, lamb, oysters, peanuts, sesame seeds, tahini and wheat germ.

Anti-oxidant rich foods can be added to your diet to improve your overall health and your body’s ability to stay healthy. Foods such as blueberries, cranberries, kidney beans, pinto beans, raspberries, strawberries, apples, pecans and potatoes all contain anti-oxidants that can help your body better fend off infection and sickness.

When you make dietary changes in your everyday life that are helpful in keeping you well, you will find that you get sick less often and have a quicker recovery when you do.
