A common question we get asked is, “What can I expect in terms of results from my CoolSculpting treatment?” That’s a great question and, when a patient is in our medical spa, we can provide a more precise answer based on what we find during a personalized consultation. This is because CoolSculpting results vary from person to person.

Why? Because you are unique. Your goals and what it takes to reach those goals are yours and yours alone.

What to Expect From Your CoolSculpting Results

CoolSculpting results vary based on:

  1. Treatment area, including the size of the area and number of areas treated
  2. Patient needs and goals
  3. Medical and health history
  4. Genetics

Just like you may need fewer or more units of BOTOX than your best friend, you may require fewer or more applications of CoolSculpting to achieve similar results.

Average CoolSculpting Results

Based on clinical trials and reporting from providers, there is an average number of applications required to achieve an average amount of measurable fat reduction. This information, combined with a personal consultation, helps our providers set your expectations prior to your first treatment.

Just one treatment reduces fat cells up to 20-25% in the treatment area. This is the upper tier of fat reduction. On average, patients require more than one application on a single treatment area to achieve the desired result.

When to Expect Noticeable Results

It takes 1-3 months per application to see full results. Final results can take six months or more. We recommend taking photos before and after each appointment so you can see your progress.

Fat Reduction vs Weight Loss

CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment. If you are overweight, we recommend reaching your healthy target weight prior to CoolSculpting treatments. CoolSculpting is about spot reduction of stubborn fat which doesn’t reduce with regular diet and exercise.

Muscle Toning and Building

CoolSculpting does not build or tone your muscles; however, if you have built the muscles through exercise, CoolSculpting can reduce the fat obstructing your visible results. For example, if you have excess fat around your midsection, reducing the fat in that area can reveal a six pack you achieved doing crunches.

If you want help building and toning your muscles, there is another procedure which helps with this. It is a wonderful complement to CoolSculpting, called CoolTone.
