Have you begun noticing that your face isn't looking quite as full and radiant as it used to? As we age, our bodies do not produce as much collagen as they once did, which unfortunately means that we lose some of the youthful structure and fullness in the face. Though aging is an inevitable part of life, looking your age no longer has to be with the help of dermal fillers like Sculptra Aesthetic by Galderma®, the makers of Dysport® and Restylane®.

The Sculptra Aesthetic Difference

Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved, non-invasive facial injectable designed to give you gradual, long-lasting results.

The secret to Sculptra Aesthetic is its ability to help replace and restore lost collagen over time, giving you a natural, noticeable improvement in facial volume. Injections of Sculptra are able to stimulate collagen production, which means that, in addition to the boost in fullness you see initially, you will continue to get better and better results as your body's natural collagen production increases.

What to Expect With Sculptra Aesthetic at Ultra Smooth Skin

Before we administer any type of treatment, we require a consultation to make sure you can safely receive treatment and will benefit from a Sculptra procedure. After the consultation, if we have agreed that Sculptra is the best option to help you achieve your aesthetic goals, we will schedule you for your first treatment session.

At Ultra Smooth Skin, we take every opportunity to ensure that you are comfortable and feel involved in your treatment process. Our team of expert injectors are ready to answer your questions and provide you with the best results.

The Sculptra Consultation

When you come in for your consultation, you will meet with your provider to discuss your medical history, problem areas and the end results you hope to see once your treatment is completed. This one-on-one time is set aside for you to gather as much information as you need before scheduling your treatment.

Your provider will examine you and determine if Sculptra is the right solution for your needs and ensure you can safely receive treatment. Once we've determined you're a good candidate and established realistic expectations, we can proceed with treatment.

The Sculptra Procedure

Your Sculptra treatments will be relatively simple and comfortable, much like any other injectable filler treatment. Typically, the areas to be treated will be carefully marked, and the specialist will inject or apply topically a small amount of anesthetic to minimize discomfort during the treatment. After the Sculptra has been injected, your provider will gently massage the treatment areas.

If you are concerned about pain or discomfort during the procedure, speak with your provider before the treatment or during the consultation to find out what additional steps can be taken to make the experience as painless as possible.

Sculptra Results and Follow-up Treatments

Once your session is complete, you may notice a bit of bruising or swelling at the injection sites. This is normal and should go away quickly. There is no prescribed downtime associated with this treatment.

Most patients require a series of three treatments to achieve optimum results. Each treatment is spaced about one month apart.

Sculptra Aesthetic FAQ

As with any cosmetic procedure, especially one involving your face, you are sure to have plenty of questions. Below are the answers to the most common questions asked by patients to help you get started. We recommend that you schedule a consultation to get more detailed information related to your unique needs to ensure you get the full picture of how Sculptra will work for you.

How Does Sculptra Work?

Sculptra utilizes a compound called poly-L-lactic acid, which is a well-tested material that is most often used in the medical community for dissolvable stitches. It is injected into the deepest layers of your skin in order to reinforce your skin's structure and ultimately boost your body's natural collagen production.

Why Should I Choose Ultra Smooth Skin for Sculptra?

Ultra Smooth Skin has earned the prestigious Black Diamond certification from Allergan®, the makers of Botox® Cosmetic and Juvederm®, for our commitment to being a leader in patient care. Less than 1 percent of all medical aesthetic practices ever achieve this elite status, so you can rest assured that you will be in good hands with us.

How Is Sculptra Different From Other Fillers?

Unlike most facial fillers, Sculptra does not contain any human or animal components, which makes it an excellent option for those with allergies or those who are sensitive to certain compounds. In addition, it continues to work for you over the long-term by sparking an increase in natural collagen production as it is absorbed by your body, which means that you should see better results over a longer period of time. Sculptra is often used in older patients will significant volume loss to provide the underlying structure necessary prior to adding other fillers. Unlike most other fillers, Sculptra isn't a hyaluronic acid injectable like Juvederm Voluma® or Restylane Lyft®.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Sculptra Aesthetic Treatments?

Healthy adults with deep smile lines in the nasolabial folds, deep wrinkles, shallow facial lines, chin wrinkles or "marionette lines" could be a good candidates for Sculptra with a few exceptions. Sculptra is FDA-approved, so it is considered safe for most people.

Who Shouldn't Get Sculptra?

If you are pregnant, nursing, allergic to any of Sculptra's ingredients, or susceptible to keloid formation, or if you have an active skin infection or a tendency toward hypertrophic scarring, you should bring these issues to the attention of your specialist to make sure Sculptra is right for you. Patients who are on prescription blood thinners may not be able to receive injectable treatments. Discuss your full medical history, prescriptions, and supplements with your provider to ensure we have all of the necessary information to determine if Sculptra is safe for you.

What Areas Can Be Treated With Sculptra Aesthetic?

Sculptra can be used around the mouth and nose, along the jawline and at your temples and cheeks.

Where Will My Sculptra Treatment Be Performed?

Your treatment will be performed in the privacy of one of our three convenient locations in Scottsdale and Chandler, AZ.

Is Sculptra Painful? Is Anesthesia Available?

Before the procedure, your injection specialist will administer local anesthesia via injection or a topical numbing cream. While this should minimize any discomfort during the injection process, don't hesitate to ask your provider about pain management options beforehand.

What Are the Potential Sculptra Side Effects?

The most common side effects associated with Sculptra are mild and short term and include redness, swelling, bruising at the injection site, tenderness, itching and lumps. These usually subside within a few days. More serious complications are very rare and can largely be avoided by ensuring your provider is a medically licensed injector with a proven track record of safety and results. Discuss this with your provider during your consultation.

How Much Does Sculptra Cost?

The cost of treatment may depend on your provider and the number of sessions you undergo. At Ultra Skin Smooth, our Sculptra Aesthetic sessions include any special discounts provided by our partnership with ASPIRE® Galderma Rewards. If you are not already an ASPIRE rewards member, we encourage you to join. You will be rewarded with exclusive perks, points and discounts every time you receive a Galderma aesthetic treatment. 1Individual results may vary. 2All manufacturer claims, in regards to the benefits, process, length/effectiveness of treatments, how soon you'll see results or heal, or claims of minimal side effects such as minor redness or mild discomfort or no downtime, are provided by the pharmaceautical manufacturers as part of their guidelines in promoting their product and are backed by case studies/peer-reviewed publications and are published on their individual websites. 3Testimonials are the opinions of real clients that wanted to provide them and express their opinion to others. When written, the only editing done was to fix minor grammatical/syntax errors and/or to truncate extended testimonials that, while nice, went a bit long. Video testimonials are unedited. 4Treatments and services that are time-related (such as fees per a "20 minute session") are rooted in the fact that most appointments (i.e. the historical average amount of time required to complete most areas we treat) take that amount of time; however, it may be recommended or advised or necessary that more than one session time is required to achieve whatever affect you're looking for (such as someone wanting to treat many areas of their body vs someone simply wanting to treat their hands). A quick consultation in our office will provide you the exact time required to treat whatever you wish since treatment areas have a direct impact on time required to treat such areas. 5Superlatives, when describing services/products, are manufacturer claims and, in the end, it's your opinion as to what service/product is right/effective/best for you. 6Internal comparison claims comparing one technology to another (such as stating that a new product is x% better than the previous model, similar to how a 2023 model vehicle has many advances/improvements over a 2010 vehicle), when comparisons are done within the same company's lineup, are the manufacturer's statement-of-fact and reflect the latest science and/or breakthrough that, when released as a product, is the best/most effective at the time within their own product lineup — they are not claims comparing their product against other manufacturers' products. 7Videos, which we have chosen to add links to on our website, are either local television coverage pieces or third-party videos that we feel are great for learning and gaining an overview of the process of several services we offer; but third-party videos (e.g. those in the public domain, such as YouTube) in no way should be construed as an endorsement of Ultra Smooth Skin and/or our services specifically. They are meant as an awareness tool to help you decide upon common treatments provided by Ultra Smooth Skin and medspa providers nationwide. Some videos are produced by the pharmceutical manufacturers and others are by service providers, while still others are television appearances by Lisa Williams, the owner of Ultra Smooth Skin. 8Time is accurate as certain procedures have a fixed-length time of treatment per area. 9At our locations. 10Data on file at manufacturer.
