What is Juvéderm® Volbella
Juvederm Volbella, the newest addition to the Juvederm family of fillers, is an FDA-approved injectable that's specifically designed to minimize the delicate lines around the mouth, plump lips and remove vertical lip lines to restore your smile.
A recent study found that Volbella — which was developed by Allergan®, the makers of Botox® Cosmetic — received accolades from 98 percent of people who used it. Patients during clinical trials said that the treatment had achieved their goals for lip appearance. The clear gel lasts up to 12 months and restores smiles, removes smoker lines around the mouth and creates fuller lips. Approximately 80 percent of people who received the treatment reported at least a 1-point improvement in lip fullness, and 62 percent confirmed that the fullness lasted a year.
Smooth & Enhance Your Lips with Juvéderm Volbella
FDA-approved Juvederm Volbella is the first Allergan filler designed specifically for the lips; it provides subtle enhancement of the lips while addressing the vertical lip lines, also called smoker's lines, around the mouth.

What Happens at Your Juvéderm Volbella Consultation
Scheduling your consultation at one of our modern clinics in Arizona allows us to ask questions about your facial goals, evaluate your health and skin, and recommend the right treatment approach for your needs. We will go over your medical history, discuss your expectations, and recommend a customized treatment plan.
How the Volbella Procedure Works
The procedure is fast and comfortable. We recommend abstaining from alcohol and blood-thinning medications and supplements before treatment. We usually apply ice or a numbing agent to the skin before the injection to minimize discomfort. The fine-gauge needle we use causes only minimal discomfort, and Juvederm Volbella contains lidocaine, which blocks the nerve impulses that cause pain. The gel will be injected in small increments and molded by your provider until the desired results are achieved.
Juvéderm Volbella Aftercare
During the first 24-48 hours, ice should be applied at the injection site to reduce swelling and inflammation. Additionally, you should avoid applying pressure to your lips through kissing or using straws. Avoid high temperatures, such as saunas, hot showers, steam, or hot exercise, for at least 48 hours after the procedure, as this can increase swelling.
You can apply makeup to cover any redness or skin discoloration that might temporarily develop after a few hours. Make sure to drink plenty of water to help your body throughout the healing process. If you are experiencing any pain, talk with your treatment provider about which painkillers you can take, but avoid any blood-thinning medications.
Juvéderm Volbella Results and Follow-up Treatments
Results of the treatment are often immediately visible, but the area can remain swollen for a few days. Juvederm Volbella is unique in that it provides subtle improvements that look more natural. After a few weeks, we'll have you return to check on your progress and administer more filler if needed to achieve the full results. The treatment lasts up to one year, so you probably won't need any follow-up treatment for 12 months. At that time, a quick follow-up procedure can help you maintain your results.

How Does Juvederm Volbella Work?
Juvederm Volbella is specially formulated to treat lips and areas around the lips. The compound is one of a class of injectables made from hyaluronic acid, which augments soft tissue, fills depressed areas, minimizes lines and wrinkles, and absorbs less water than surrounding tissue.
The high-viscosity gel resists spreading, fills skin lines and plumps depressed areas. This makes lips appear fuller, restores your smile and makes your skin look younger. The lidocaine component relieves nerve pain, which makes the noninvasive injectable process for Juvederm Volbella more comfortable for treating sensitive areas around the mouth.
Why Should I Choose Ultra Smooth Skin for My Volbella Treatment?
Our medical staff and director are experienced in facial procedures, and our three Arizona medical spa offices provide modern equipment in an appealing setting. Our director and Certified Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner, Lisa Williams, specializes in aesthetic facial treatments and has an extraordinary level of experience working with facial injectables like Juvederm Volbella. Ultra Smooth Skin offers three locations in the Chandler and Scottsdale areas near Phoenix that are perfect for local residents and medical tourists.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Juvederm Volbella?
Adults over the age of 21 can remove unwanted lines around the mouth while restoring the fullness and youthful appearance of lips and smiles. Patients who desire better lip symmetry or just want fuller lips can also benefit from a Volbella treatment without looking overdone. You can now treat the problem areas around your mouth with a product designed specifically for that area.
Who Shouldn't Get Volbella Treatments?
No aesthetic procedure works perfectly for every person. You shouldn't have the treatment if you're pregnant or nursing. Certain medications, supplements and health conditions, such as allergies, could preclude getting Volbella injections.
If you aren't an ideal candidate for Volbella injections, we have many other nonsurgical treatments that might be a better fit for you. That's why our consultation is so important in determining the best aesthetic approach for anti-aging and appearance-enhancing treatments.
What Areas Can Be Treated With Juvederm Volbella?
Juvederm Volbella was designed to treat problem lines around the mouth and to restore fuller lips. The injectable gel helps to vertical lip lines, also called smoker's lines. The gel is also used to restore fuller lips and create a winning smile.
How Is Juvederm Volbella Different From Juvederm Ultra XC?
Both Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Volbella are used as lip fillers and last up to one year. However, Juvederm Ultra is used to add more significant fullness to the lips while Volbella is geared toward more subtle lip enhancement results. It's thinner, lightweight formula means it's also better suited for lip lines around the mouth.
Where Will My Volbella Treatment Be Performed?
Volbella treatments are performed as a noninvasive, nonsurgical in-office procedure. You can schedule your treatment at one of our three locations in Chandler and Scottsdale, AZ.
What Pain Relief Options Are Available During a Juvederm Volbella Treatment?
Volbella is formulated with lidocaine, an injectable anesthetic, so most people experience very little-to-no discomfort during treatment. The needle is extremely fine, and in the hands of a skilled nurse injector, you should experience no pain.
Over-the-counter pain medication and topical creams can reduce any swelling or inflammation. If you're extremely sensitive to pain, you can discuss using ice or a topical numbing agent with us.
What Are the Potential Side Effects of Juvederm Volbella?
There is usually some swelling, redness or bruising after the injection of Juvederm Volbella, but these effects rarely last longer than a week. Fortunately, you can apply makeup 12 hours after the procedure to deal with any skin discoloration. More serious side effects are rare; these include allergic reactions that cause breathing difficulties or excessive swelling. These risks are usually identified during your consultation with us.
How Much Does Volbella Cost?
The training and skill of your injector affect the cost. In our three offices, the price varies based on your provider and individual goals. You can qualify for discounts with the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions program, which allows you to earn points for Allergan treatments. We also offer monthly specials on various treatments, including fillers.
