Your Consultation

Prior to any procedure at Ultra Smooth Skin, you can expect a thorough consultation. This determines which treatment(s) are right for your needs. We will evaluate your medical history, overall health, and desired treatment areas to determine eligibility for treatment. We want to ensure you experience results you will love.

The CoolTone Procedure

You will lie down in your private treatment room in our medical spa while the CoolTone applicator is attached to the treatment area. The device uses magnetic energy to comfortably stimulate muscle contractions while you relax. Each contraction tones and strengthens the muscles for a firmer, more toned look.

CoolTone Results and Follow-up Treatments

Most patients require four treatments over two weeks. However, some patients may require more CoolTone procedures to see their full results. You should continue your exercise routine and maintain a healthy lifestyle during and after your CoolTone treatments. Individual results will vary, but most patients see significant improvement following the initial two week treatment series.

CoolTone FAQ

We recommend booking a consultation with one of our providers; however, here are some answers to frequently asked questions about CoolTone.

How does CoolTone work?

CoolTone uses magnetic energy to stimulate muscle contractions on the abs, buttocks, and thighs, building, strengthening, and toning the targeted muscle area.

Why should I choose Ultra Smooth Skin for CoolTone?

Ultra Smooth Skin is recognized by Allergan, the maker of CoolSculpting and CoolTone, as one of the top providers in the entire United States. Ultra Smooth Skin is an Allergan Black Diamond account, putting us in the top 1% of all Allergan practices in the nation. Ultra Smooth Skin is a certified CoolSculpting center, and our team is led by a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner (ANP-C) with years of experience in body sculpting.

How is CoolTone different from CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting freezes and eliminates unwanted fat using precise cooling to temperatures which do not affect surrounding tissue. CoolTone does not target fat or use freezing; it targets the muscles using magnetic energy. CoolSculpting and CoolTone do, however, work well together to provide you with a sculpted physique you'll love. First, we will freeze your fat, and then we will build your muscle. Both treatments are non-surgical, non-invasive solutions for body contouring.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Typically, four treatments over two weeks are recommended. However, each patient is different Book a consultation to find out more information about your needs.

Who is a Good Candidate for CoolTone? Is it safe?

CoolTone is FDA-cleared and considered safe for most healthy adults who wish to tone their abdomen, buttocks, and/or thighs. In some cases, we may recommend a few CoolSculpting treatments to reduce fat prior to CoolTone. If you wish to tone your abdominal muscles, build your backside, or shape your thighs, CoolTone may be right for you.

Who Shouldn't Get CoolTone?

If you have certain medically necessary implanted devices, such as a pacemaker, you should not get CoolTone, as the magnetic stimulation could interfere with the device. Women who are actively menstruating should not receive treatment, as the procedure can intensify cramps and bleeding. If you recently had surgery, we do not recommend treatment. Other contraindications to treatment exist, so please contact us with questions about your individual needs.

What areas can be treated?

CoolTone is currently FDA-cleared to treat the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs.

Does CoolTone Hurt?

Muscle contractions are felt during treatment, but most patients describe it as tolerable. If you are in pain or feel uncomfortable during your procedure, please mention this with your provider.

Are There Any Side-Effects?

Side-effects are minimal with CoolTone. It's non-surgical and non-invasive, and our providers will screen you ahead of time to ensure you're a good candidate. This helps avoid most side-effects and risks. Common side-effects are mild and include temporary muscle spasm, joint or tendon pain, muscular discomfort, skin redness or erythema at the application site. Women who are close to menstruation during treatment may experience intensified cramps or bleeding or start bleeding earlier than expected.

What is the Price of CoolTone?

Price considerations vary depending on how many applications you will require to see results. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find out more about pricing.

1Individual results may vary. 2All manufacturer claims, in regards to the benefits, process, length/effectiveness of treatments, how soon you'll see results or heal, or claims of minimal side effects such as minor redness or mild discomfort or no downtime, are provided by the pharmaceautical manufacturers as part of their guidelines in promoting their product and are backed by case studies/peer-reviewed publications and are published on their individual websites. 3Testimonials are the opinions of real clients that wanted to provide them and express their opinion to others. When written, the only editing done was to fix minor grammatical/syntax errors and/or to truncate extended testimonials that, while nice, went a bit long. Video testimonials are unedited. 4Treatments and services that are time-related (such as fees per a "20 minute session") are rooted in the fact that most appointments (i.e. the historical average amount of time required to complete most areas we treat) take that amount of time; however, it may be recommended or advised or necessary that more than one session time is required to achieve whatever affect you're looking for (such as someone wanting to treat many areas of their body vs someone simply wanting to treat their hands). A quick consultation in our office will provide you the exact time required to treat whatever you wish since treatment areas have a direct impact on time required to treat such areas. 5Superlatives, when describing services/products, are manufacturer claims and, in the end, it's your opinion as to what service/product is right/effective/best for you. 6Internal comparison claims comparing one technology to another (such as stating that a new product is x% better than the previous model, similar to how a 2023 model vehicle has many advances/improvements over a 2010 vehicle), when comparisons are done within the same company's lineup, are the manufacturer's statement-of-fact and reflect the latest science and/or breakthrough that, when released as a product, is the best/most effective at the time within their own product lineup — they are not claims comparing their product against other manufacturers' products. 7Videos, which we have chosen to add links to on our website, are either local television coverage pieces or third-party videos that we feel are great for learning and gaining an overview of the process of several services we offer; but third-party videos (e.g. those in the public domain, such as YouTube) in no way should be construed as an endorsement of Ultra Smooth Skin and/or our services specifically. They are meant as an awareness tool to help you decide upon common treatments provided by Ultra Smooth Skin and medspa providers nationwide. Some videos are produced by the pharmceutical manufacturers and others are by service providers, while still others are television appearances by Lisa Williams, the owner of Ultra Smooth Skin. 8Time is accurate as certain procedures have a fixed-length time of treatment per area. 9At our locations. 10Data on file at manufacturer.
