CoolSculpting offers a great way to get rid of excess body fat that has been unresponsive to diet and exercise. It has been rated as number one by our patients because of its ease of use and effectiveness.

Well-loved because it is non-invasive, CoolSculpting is a fast, painless procedure that can help your clothes fit better while giving you increased self-confidence. Approved by the FDA since 2012, CoolSculpting is a popular fat-reduction treatment in our Scottsdale and Chandler offices.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses controlled cooling to eliminate fat cells in certain areas of the body. By using cryolipolysis to freeze and destroy unwanted fat cells, CoolSculpting can be used to target fat cells with precision.

The procedure involves placing a cooling device on the targeted area, which then freezes the fat cells. Over time, the frozen fat cells are naturally eliminated from the body through the liver. It can be used on numerous zones around the body such as the abdomen, love handles, thighs, and chin to produce the lean appearance that you crave. Most fat zones are reduced in size by up to 25 percent following a complete set of treatments and it requires no downtime or recovery.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

CoolSculpting precisely freezes the fat in a selected area without harming the skin, nerves, and other surrounding tissue. The cooling is carefully monitored throughout the entire process. As the fat cells are frozen, they begin to die naturally. Following the procedure, the technician will gently massage the treated area to further break up the frozen fat cells. This will allow them to be excreted by the body more easily. The cells will begin to disappear several weeks after the treatment.

What to Expect From a CoolSculpting Treatment at Ultra Smooth Skin

We offer CoolSculpting at each of our locations in Scottsdale and Chandler, Arizona, serving the entire Phoenix area. Our aesthetic providers at each location will give you professional, individualized care when you come in for CoolSculpting.

The CoolSculpting Consultation

Any CoolSculpting treatment will begin with a complete consultation during which our aesthetic technicians will determine exactly what your goals are for your body. We will help you determine where the fat has collected and which areas we can treat. We will ask you applicable questions, including questions about your past medical and surgical history.

The CoolSculpting Procedure

On the day of your treatment, one of our providers will mark the exact areas to be treated. We will then place a medical-grade gel pad on the treatment area and attach our applicator to the pad. When the treatment starts, you will feel the fat sucked up into the vacuum-like applicator. The CoolSculpting applicator will then carefully cool the area. The treatment lasts approximately 35 to 60 minutes. No needles, incisions or anesthesia is needed.

CoolSculpting Results and Follow-up Treatments

There is no recovery time needed following the treatment. Within the next few weeks, the frozen fat cells will be gradually eliminated by the body, giving you a leaner appearance. Your body can never make more fat cells; the ones that have been frozen are gone forever. You may need up to two additional treatments for the best results.

CoolSculpting FAQ

The best place to get all of the answers to your CoolSculpting questions is at your consultation with your Coolsculpting technician. However, here are some basic answers to common questions.

Is CoolSculpting Surgery?

CoolSculpting is not surgery because it is noninvasive. It requires no anesthesia, needles or incisions. Additionally, it does not require a lengthy recovery time. You will be able to continue with your regularly scheduled activities immediately following your treatment.

How Many CoolSculpting Treatments Will I Need?

Most patients require up to three treatments per area to achieve results. However, this varies by patient and treatment area. Our providers will discuss the number of treatments and how you can purchase a package to help you achieve your desired result.

Who Is a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting may be the right choice for you if you have excess fat in certain areas of your body that is unresponsive to diet and exercise. You should be close to your goal weight and have some noticeable fat bulges in one of the areas that we treat. If you are looking for a noninvasive body sculpting procedure, CoolSculpting may be right for you.

Who Shouldn't Get CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting by ZELTIQ has been approved by the FDA since 2012, meaning that it's been determined that the treatment is considered safe for most patients. However, CoolSculpting is not for you if you are obese because it is not an approved weight loss treatment. If you are 30 pounds or more over your ideal weight, CoolSculpting may not be the right treatment choice. Additionally, CoolSculpting is not for you if you are pregnant, have a history of eating disorders or have had recent surgery in the area.

Where Will My CoolSculpting Treatments Be Performed?

As CoolSculpting is a non-surgical treatment that requires no anesthesia, all treatments can be performed right in our Phoenix-area medical spas.

Does CoolSculpting Hurt? Will I Receive Anesthesia?

Most patients do not report pain with CoolSculpting. You will feel an intense chill at first until the area becomes numb within a few minutes. You may also feel pulling from the suction of the applicator. You will not need any general or topical anesthetic for the procedure. Most patients report that they are generally comfortable during their CoolSculpting treatment. Many of our patients relax and read or catch up on email during the procedure.

Are There Any Side Effects With CoolSculpting?

Your CoolSculpting technician will discuss risks and side effects with you before your treatment. In general, side effects are quite rare but could include temporary redness, bruising, swelling, tingling or pain at the treated area.

How Much Does CoolSculpting Cost?

CoolSculpting costs vary depending on how many treatments you will require and the size of the treatment area. Consider checking our monthly specials that we may offer before your treatment.

Where Can I See CoolSculpting Before and After Photos?

You can check out actual patient before and after photographs at the official CoolSculpting website. We also have a book of CoolSculpting before and after photos that you may flip through during your consultation.

1Individual results may vary. 2All manufacturer claims, in regards to the benefits, process, length/effectiveness of treatments, how soon you'll see results or heal, or claims of minimal side effects such as minor redness or mild discomfort or no downtime, are provided by the pharmaceautical manufacturers as part of their guidelines in promoting their product and are backed by case studies/peer-reviewed publications and are published on their individual websites. 3Testimonials are the opinions of real clients that wanted to provide them and express their opinion to others. When written, the only editing done was to fix minor grammatical/syntax errors and/or to truncate extended testimonials that, while nice, went a bit long. Video testimonials are unedited. 4Treatments and services that are time-related (such as fees per a "20 minute session") are rooted in the fact that most appointments (i.e. the historical average amount of time required to complete most areas we treat) take that amount of time; however, it may be recommended or advised or necessary that more than one session time is required to achieve whatever affect you're looking for (such as someone wanting to treat many areas of their body vs someone simply wanting to treat their hands). A quick consultation in our office will provide you the exact time required to treat whatever you wish since treatment areas have a direct impact on time required to treat such areas. 5Superlatives, when describing services/products, are manufacturer claims and, in the end, it's your opinion as to what service/product is right/effective/best for you. 6Internal comparison claims comparing one technology to another (such as stating that a new product is x% better than the previous model, similar to how a 2023 model vehicle has many advances/improvements over a 2010 vehicle), when comparisons are done within the same company's lineup, are the manufacturer's statement-of-fact and reflect the latest science and/or breakthrough that, when released as a product, is the best/most effective at the time within their own product lineup — they are not claims comparing their product against other manufacturers' products. 7Videos, which we have chosen to add links to on our website, are either local television coverage pieces or third-party videos that we feel are great for learning and gaining an overview of the process of several services we offer; but third-party videos (e.g. those in the public domain, such as YouTube) in no way should be construed as an endorsement of Ultra Smooth Skin and/or our services specifically. They are meant as an awareness tool to help you decide upon common treatments provided by Ultra Smooth Skin and medspa providers nationwide. Some videos are produced by the pharmceutical manufacturers and others are by service providers, while still others are television appearances by Lisa Williams, the owner of Ultra Smooth Skin. 8Time is accurate as certain procedures have a fixed-length time of treatment per area. 9At our locations. 10Data on file at manufacturer.
