What You Need to Know About Refyne and Defyne

Galderma's Restylane lineup keeps getting better; they just got two new members with the addition of Refyne and Defyne to their dermal fillers team. Both products are designed to specifically target laugh lines — Refyne for those with moderate wrinkles and folds that extend from the nose to the mouth; and Refyne to give a bit more plump and to fill deeper lines.

The breakthrough technology is called XpresHAn, which the manufacturer rep playfully told us should be pronounced similar to a French person saying "expression."

History of the Product

Restylane Refyne and Defyne gained FDA-approval in December 2016; however, both products have actually been used in Europe since 2010. Restylane Refyne's brand name is known as "Emervel Classic" and Restylane Defyne is known as "Emervel Deep" outside the US.
